about me

My story

Professor, Scholar, Author, Researcher, Public Speaker

I was born by the river, in a little tent – ok not quite. However, I did start my professional career working on managing river basins with the Army Corps of Engineers on projects ranging from water supply management to flood control. I returned to UVA after working for 5 years and earned an MBA from the Darden School. I then earned a PhD from Duke University with a focus on Operations Management and Operations Research.

I have worked as an Academic Scholar ever since with dozens of publications.  (See document library.) In addition I have created dozens of courses for several MS, MBA, and PhD programs.

In addition, I have created and managed Graduate programs in Risk Management and Analytics.  am currently an active Toastmaster and have spoken professionally at various locations and events.

As I approach retirement, I remain on the lookout for the next chapter. Stay tuned!
